Thanks to Area Coach Simon ward.
Great experience for players aged 8 upwards.
Today’s Western Area Open Mat Randori gathering at Bradley Stoke was a fantastic success, bringing together judoka from eight clubs across the region. The session was filled with great enthusiasm and energy, reflecting the strong commitment to development and collaboration within the Western Area judo community.
These open mat sessions are designed specifically to support judoka development by providing a positive and inclusive environment with plenty of opportunities for randori. Athletes of different ages and experience levels were able to train together, challenge themselves, and gain valuable mat time in a supportive setting.
A key focus of the day was building new friendships and strengthening links between clubs. The atmosphere on the mat highlighted the importance of collaboration, with clubs working together to deliver high-quality judo experiences for all participants. Younger judoka had the chance to learn from and be inspired by older, more experienced players, helping to shape and motivate our future stars.
Overall, the event demonstrated the power of shared training opportunities and strong club connections in developing both technical skills and the wider judo community. A huge thank you to all clubs, coaches, and judoka who attended and contributed to such a positive and inspiring session.
