Huge congratulations to all our medallists at last weekends Westcountry Green Belt and Under Championships at Kingsley School in Bideford. What a fantastic day of judo.
14 clubs in attendance, with an amazing line-up of young judoka showing great attitude, effort and potential throughout the event.
Events like this only work when local clubs get behind them. When clubs engage, promote, support and bring teams along, it gives children the chance to compete, grow in confidence and continue developing in the sport.
A huge thank you to every club, coach, volunteer, official, parent and player who helped make the day such a success. All officials and majority of the referees were from the Western area. Without officials and referees these events can not happen, please encourage your club members to train as officials (minimum age 10) and referees, minimum grade green belt, age 14. 
All contests were completed by 1:30pm, with medals presented quickly, giving everyone the chance to enjoy the rest of the weekend in Devon — and maybe even a trip to the beach.
